Lesko Supports Congressional Gold Medals for Fallen in Afghanistan

U.S. Congresswoman Debbie Lesko (AZ-08) joined colleagues in introducing legislation to posthumously award Congressional Gold Medals to the 13 U.S. servicemembers who lost their lives during the attack on Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul, Afghanistan amid evacuation efforts.

"The brave men and women who aided our mission to evacuate American citizens and Afghan allies and tragically lost their lives in those efforts deserve recognition for their profound sacrifice," said Congresswoman Lesko. "I am proud to join my colleagues and recognize these young servicemembers with the prestigious Congressional Gold Medal. We must never forget their sacrifice on behalf of our nation."
